Rapid Reinforcements 2 Announcement Post!

Alright, we finally have enough rulings that I can start getting these articles out. Almost everything has been clarified and these sure.... are cards, alright. I'm working on getting all these out for people and may even have some help soon writing them up, but we'll see how those all get out soon enough. I have..... many feelings about these cards, and the FAQs that arrived today.  I will try not to let them color my judgment too much as the site exists to advise people how to play these cards; I will use those rulings to help write the articles, though!

Expect the first ghost when the clock strikes onnnnnnnne! Or uh, I mean, article, uh, soon

  1. Just wanted to say, i am quitting this game and selling my collection because of AMGs meddling with it. A game where 2 commanders basically completely neuter 2 whole archetypes unplayable (that being MSU and non-Rebel squadron lists) is no longer a game i feel any urge to play. I have waited and observed AMG long enogh and after seing the X-Wing changes and now Armada, i can confidently say that the direction for this game is set. This is not a mistake and its not unintentional. AMG wants superhero games dominated by named characters and they are intent on getting there, no matter what it means for those games. I played this game since day 1, even participated in some small tournaments and owned everything, even repainted my whole collection by adding window lights to all my ships and painting all my squadrons. But this is it for me. I no longer want to support a company that cares so little about something that i care so much about and continuously convincing myself that it wouldn't be like that is getting dishonest and, quite frankly, unhealthy for me. I loved this game. The diversity in list building, the sheer amount of options, the generally well though-out balance, the obvious care the former developers had for this game. But with the direction AMG very obviously CHOSE to take all of this is getting slowly and painfully more and more lost. I am cutting it now, because i can clearly see the writing on the wall and don't want to have to endure the painful process of a slow death that will now ensue. It was fun while it lasted. Goodbye Star Wars Armada.

    1. Sorry to see you go, but I don't fundamentally disagree with you. The game is in hospice care and AMG is a reckless caretaker. Folks seem to be departing for Drop Noun Commander and the new edition of 40K from what I've seen.

  2. I'm not as negative as a lot of people about RR2. I'M honestly excited to see how Anakin might diversify the meta with cards like Mon Karren, officer-palpatine and heavy turbo turrets going up in value. Though I do feel bad for imperial squad heavy users for sure with Draven putting a hit out on squad dials

  3. Okay i think i over-reacted. Im staying with Armada for now, but i will probably stay away from anything AMG and from competitive play as well. Seeing AMG handling games that i care so much about with so incredibly little effort and thoughts put into it just made me angry. Its like a slap in your face. I'm keeping my collection for now but i don't think i'm gonna care about competitive games any longer or about any new AMG releases. I still appreciate the blog here and sorry for the drama but when you care about a game so much this all just hurts and its probably healthier to stay away from it all more. I just wish the people "supporting" the game would care nearly as much about it as the average player. 😔

    1. Armada is in hospice care and AMG is just kinda... present. At best. The new release is very disheartening. The game is dying and a lot of players have been very unpleasantly surprised by RR2. Folks keep waiting for AMG to get around to Armada and when they do the results are not great. I don't fault anyone for being upset about it. It's a bad position for any game to be in.

  4. Where is the FAQ for RR2 posted? I've been scouring the tubes of the interwebs but I haven't found it. Thanks.

    2. FAQ is... Generous. Basically it's all responses on AMG's rule forum.
