Know Your Enemy/Commander's Corner: Kyrsta Agate

Release day means that with everything caught up, it's time for the Wave 8 articles.  I'll start mine off with Kyrsta Agate, the newest commander and the first not featured in a movie somewhere!  Scourge of Ravager, destroyer of the Imperial Navy after Endor, hit the jump for the details!
It's the eye of the space tiger....

Know Your Enemy/Commander's Corner: Admiral Raddus!

Fish heads, fish heads, rolly polly fish heads, it's time for the ACTUAL Admiral Raddus post!
Look, I'd love to say this isn't just going to be more entrance music, but well.....

Know Your Enemy/Commander's Corner: Leia Organa

I am disgruntled.

Hi, John! I'm the call and response questionnaire that will let you address the audience! Why are you so disgruntled?

I WAS having a pleasant Friday. Work is going well, I got to see the reveal of the new Wave 7 Commanders and new ISDs for my Imp friends, I see we Rebels have a ship of some type coming out (seriously FFG, where's my news? And can you give me the secret list that will let me win Worlds and get to design a Commander card like JJ did to get Thrawn? I'm not sure WHAT the Rebel leader I have will get, but it'll be great, for realsies)

I was reading the forums on a break and then I saw it, several times.
"Thrawn is clearly better than Leia."
"Leia is overcosted and not good."
"Leia's a bad Commander."
Oh, it is ON, NOW!

Know Your Enemy/Commander's Corner: Jun Sato

So I've had a change of heart in Wave 6 with a few things.  Namely, I've had a change of heart about getting Sato to work for you.  He's not the EASIEST commander to work with (I will fully admit that some of this may be my inexperience with him), but he can be life-changing if you do him right.  That is one mighty big if, but let's get into it.
His frustration echoes mine when I often try to play him!

Commander's Corner/Know Your Enemy: Crix Madine

Apologies for the lateness of my getting this up, but it's been a busy weekend.  My sister graduated and got her PhD, so I attended that (and read 2 different X-wing books, because I don't care about 1299/1300 people attending that thing, sorry).  In any case, let's get this Commander review started with Crix Madine, the Rebellion's General from Wave 4.  Then onwards to wave 5!
It was 1983! Everyone's hair looked like that!

General Airen Cracken: Know Your Enemy/Commander's Corner

We continue Wave 3 with General Cracken, head of Rebel Intelligence.  Hit the jump and unleash the Cracken!
I was actually in the movie and this is the joke you open with? Ugh, I'm disappointed.

Know Your Enemy/Commander's Corner: Admiral Gial Ackbar

That's right, he has a first name.  It's not just "Admiral."  And he's today's Know Your Commander!
And that's Carrie Fisher's daughter on the right there

Know Your Enemy/Commander's Corner: Mon Mothma

So I'm working on catching up with Eric and the fact that he's through wave 2 and midway through wave 3.  (This line was written in 2017 and it remains true 3 years later). I'm working on it though, doing what I can.  This week's goal is finishing the Commanders through Wave 2 (So, Mothma and Ackbar) and I'm going to try to hit another ship (the MC30 sock fulla quarters) this week too.  Next week is the HMC80, the flotillas, and hopefully Cracken.  Anyways, if we're starting out with Mothma, let's get to it.
Many Bothans died to bring us this picture with Walex Blissex in it (over Madine's shoulder)

Know Your Enemy/Commander's Corner: Garm bel Iblis

So if I'm going to write a post about how to build a Rebel fleet for cheap, the smart thing to do would be to get that Commander write-up written.  Garm is not an admiral seen all that often anymore, and that's a crying shame.
It's like they gave my Dad a wig and a weird space bandolier.  Go get 'em, space dad!

Know Your Enemy/Commander's Corner: Jan Dodonna

We'll get back to the squadrons blogging soon enough, but for now I wanted to touch on the other Commander commonly seen with squadrons (I have heard requests for more ships blogging, and I WILL get on that very soon, but it was a very busy weekend, so I figured I'd knock this out first.  It's been half done for a while now, so as of this post it's ALL done).  Anyway, as we all know, Rieekan helps your named squadrons stay alive longer, keeping you in the fight for longer while still getting to attack one more time before they die.

The OTHER end of the squadron spectrum for manipulating damage is Jan Dodonna (Old Man River, Dr Beardface (it's pronounced Beard-Fah-Say!), You Brought HOW Many Squadrons?).  Let's talk about him.
This was one of the few pictures I could find that DIDN'T show him looking mad at me for starting this piece instead of writing about how to fight squadrons with squadrons.

Know Your Enemy/Commander's Corner: Carlist Rieekan

So now that we're officially A Thing, I figured I would get going on a slightly different topic.  I will get back to the squadron articles, I promise (A-wings! B-wings! Other such!), but for now, I wanted to focus on a topic that's been one people struggle with: Commander Choice.

Choosing the RIGHT Admiral for your fleet can make or break it.  If you try to run squadrons with Ackbar in a significant number, you're not going to have a great time.  Similarly, if you put Mon Mothma in with your Defiance list, you're not going to get the most benefit out of your list.  I'm not saying you CAN'T win with your list (I've run Madine with an Assault MC80 and done OK with it! I've tried that Ackbar squadrons list!), but I'd rather save you some time in figuring out what works with your guy, what doesn't work with your guy, and how to fight the Commander when all of your friends start choosing him.  I'll start this off with one of my favorite Rebel leaders.
So if I ram his ships, they take even MORE damage when they ram me back?
